Two busy evenings and a lot has happened. My plan was to finish the commissioned Inquisitor this weekend and so I did. Without any further words, here he is...
The black robe felt a bit dull, so I decided to paint the harness and the scabbard in red to give some contrast to the otherwise dark appearance. A classic trick, red and black. I must say, I had some daubts when it came to giving the Inquisitor the skull-in-a-box thing, but now that you are looking at it, it does fit in quite well, don't you think? You can't but wonder what sort of powerful weird psychic weapon it might be.
I'm really satisfied by the outcome, if I may say so myself. I think I was able to pull the character from the art work
in to it and make him look a distinctive personality. He sure looked very cool next to
Inquisitor Cassar and the rest of the posse, fitted in very well. But he won't be staying around for too long...
This hero will be wrapped in a box and take a courageus trip to the another continent in the hands of careful gorillas of the postal service – kinda like a strategic game of its own, packing and all.
If you are interested in commissioning me, Mikko or maybe both of us, please drop us a mail and lets have a chat!

He is a really cool model, and excellent rendition of the source material! I particularly like how his face turned out. His eyes have a hollow, dead quality that makes him looks far more sinister then he would have otherwise. Great work!
ReplyDeleteThanks Eric! I was affraid that the head would turn out to be too big, but I was able to blend it down a bit with paintwork. Dark robe didn't do it any easier...
DeleteAstounding Kari. Yet another beautiful miniature. I am in awe...
ReplyDeleteEve
Cheers Eve!
DeleteNice. Looks menacing. This Inquisitor's taken his art to the edge...
ReplyDeleteThank you, phiq! Indeed he has... Carrying his ancestor like that and all ;)
DeleteBeautiful work, Kari! The black and red works very well indeed. If I ever come into some money I'll totally commission you for a mini or twelve ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks Christian! Twelve, huh?! :D
DeleteFreaky. That's like good-ol'-horror-movie -freaky.
ReplyDeleteThanks Furinji. It's like Halloween all over again :D
DeleteWow! Just wow! Great Cenobite-like Inquisitor!
ReplyDeleteI would be very interested, how much such a commission would cost?
Thank oyu, Logan. Please drop me an email an let me know what you have in your mind...
DeleteA triptych of beautiful photography, build and paintwork. The orange red pipework is brilliantly effective.
ReplyDeleteCheers Neil!
DeleteWow! While the unpainted conversion was already quite nice, the paintjob really sells the model! In fact, the model actually is actually a huge improvement over the source material, getting rid of the art's slightly hokey proportions. Amazing, Kari!
ReplyDeleteExtra kudos for sending this guy away -- I would never, ever let a piece like that go ;)
Thanks KS! I do feel a bit sad to let him go, though that's the business I'm involved in...
DeleteGreat work. Like always :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, QC!
DeleteIt really is a fabulous model Kari. I am proud to say that it will be the focal point of my inq28 campaign when it arrives. I already have the rest of his retinue ready to help quash the heretics (or is it to assist the heretic?). I am very happy with the results of my commission and I am eagerly awaiting it's arrival.
ReplyDeleteThanks mate! He really was great fun to make.
DeleteIt really like the base work on this guy, matches up with the model really well with the seeping reds.
ReplyDeleteThanks Irwit!
Deletehi
ReplyDeleteI really like your dark and gloomy world …
