Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels

"From mi point of view, I see two barrels pointing at yer head."

+ The Rifleman +

Rogues Malus.

Here's the second personality for my INQ28 band of rogues, The Rifleman. His name is unknown, as is his origin. Few are his words, tone of his voice thick and dark. He is a lunatic of sort, a religious fanatic, protecting the Emperor's word on a strap with his mouth lathering.

He carries out his tasks with an uncompromising efficiency. Maybe he is an ex-militia, his procedures and habits are like those of Imperial Guard? His violent and selfish nature makes him unstable yet very functional tool in the middle of intense fight.

The Rifleman turned out pretty well, if I may say so myself... What I'm especially proud of is the strap of the gun. It was a detail that I decided to add just in the last minute. It gives another nice reference to the drawn picture.....

P.S. Sorry phiq, no scribbling on the shotty. I had to murder many of the darlings to keep things in order and this detail was one of them.

  2. Absolutely stunning! And no hard feelings about the latin letters; you have made the right decision. With the texture and grime as they are, the letters would have suffocated the shape and length of the gun. You have a real sense of composition.

    1. I'm going to use the Latin text effect at some point of my INQ28 project, such a great idea it was. Maybe it'll be crafted on someone's sword, hm? ;)

  3. That face is fantastic. Feral and loon all in one composition - perfect!
I think I will steal that lovely red and white striped trousers idea if you do not mind?

  11. Just superb work with all the three members of the crew. Who wouldn't like crazed shotgun massacrers?

The stripy clown-pants are something that gives me really big vibes ;) And the diamond patterns over the minis, goddamn you've made an awesome atmosphere with the detailing. Applause!

The background, the sculpting and painting is what I love in your work.

    Hope to see more soon!
    With best regards:

    1. I'm following your blog Codfish Parings (superb name for the blog mate!) with great interest. Your style is something I really enjoy watching - It's brutish, unceremonious and has great mood in it. The way you control washes is amazing!

By the way, which part of Finland were you coming from?

    2. Wow, a big thanks for your support! Needless to say but you two in the Rat Pack have also been one of my biggest influences, and your moody conceptual projects with all the background work makes this hobby rolling and more interesting - you have taken a snippet of the fantasy universe and twisted it a bit to look more characteristic. This is what happens when creative minds and technically advanced hands collide! :)

I come from Eastern Finland - Kitee is the town near the Russian border where I dwell. Far away from the noise of the capital city and bright lights.

      Thanks again!

  14. Really enjoyed the characterful back ground and model that you have created to accompany your Inquisitor. Not only the model but yourself was noted for having their Sunday Best on for this post. Hope you don't mind me throwing you and your blog a shout out on my weekly themed top x at The Chaos Manifesto. Cheers and thanks for sharing.

    2. Any chance for a humble panda on buying one of your paintings with an accompanying hand painted model? I am blown away by your work and feel that it has clearly left the world of table top and is now firmly in the world of art.

    3. HOTpanda, please drop me an email...

I'm currently in the middle of turbulence with my life, moving to a new apartment and that sort of stuff, so I won't promise anything... at least anytime soon.
