I received my precious little package of bits from the UK this week. After inventoring the bits I decided to start building my next grande project, Inquisitor Cassar.
Here's the results so far...
Weekend well spent, so to speak. Never the less, I'm quite satisfied by the outcome so far. I'm not sure if I'll be arming his left hand with a sword or a gun. What do you think?
I would but the sword instead of the pistol. In my opinion the sword fits better to the pose of the mini. :)
ReplyDeleteWith a sword :)
ReplyDeleteI would prefer the sword, too. Because he have a shoulder-mounted gun and I think, a nice close-combat weapon would be a good choice. But I would prefer a slim energysword, not a crude chainsword. Like a rapier.
ReplyDeleteWhere is the head from? I like it very much! :D
Cheers fellas! It looks very likely that I'll end up choosing sword. It won't be a crude and thick as the one shown in the picture, much slimmer and finer, like the rapier in Inquisitor Cassar's drawn version.
ReplyDeleteLogan, the head is from Chaos Space Marines Lord package. I removed his collar and sculpted the hair on his bald head. It was the only head that could accept in Cassar's case...
Gosh, can't wait to see painted version .DDD
ReplyDeleteWhat bitz you used to create this piece?
Looks great so far. I agree on a thinner chain sword as the nicest weapon choice. Great work so far.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jakob! I guess I'll be doing a rapier for him, force/power version maybe, as the chainsaw version looks a bit too harsh and would be hard to make look thine, don't you think?
DeleteAnd by the way, thanks for your WIP shots of Duchess Death at jrn-works.dk. They helped me a lot while I was sculpting Cassar's collar.
DeleteThanks Blot!
ReplyDeleteThere are bits from many, many kits... Empire Greatswords (chest plate), Chaos Space Marine Lord (head), Empire Cannon Crew (legs), Empire Steamtank OOP (shoes), Empire Free Company (left arm), Imperial Cadian Command Group (shoulder cannon + stem and sword) and finally Gray Knights Terminators (shoulder shield, scroll on loin). The right arm will be taken from Empire Flagellants sprue. The rest is done with greenstuff (coat, hair, collar etc...).
Outstanding work. Your inventiveness is unceasing. I think the chainsword works better, from a compositional point of view. The gun leaves the legs a little bare. The pock-marked tilt shield is brilliant; stealing this idea...
ReplyDeleteThanks phiq! Yes, the sword does screen the legs pretty nicely.
ReplyDeleteThe shield works as both coat-de-arms style badge and cover for the shoulder cannon's flimsy stem.
Some fantastic work here. I'm keen to see more.
